Online Learning in Response to COVID-19

EARLY YEARS – MIDDLE SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

We hope you and your families have kept safe and are enjoying the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan.

As you are aware, the government has recently announced that school buildings will remain closed until 15 July. However, to ensure continued learning for our students at this time, we are concluding summer holidays on 31 May, as previously announced, and proceeding as follows:

Date Activity
31 May Summer holidays end
01 June-14 July Online classes resume on BSU
15-19 June One-on-one virtual conferences with parents
15 July School buildings open; face-to-face learning resumes
20-29 July Preparation for promotions to the next academic year

Beaconhouse remains 100% committed to offering your children the best possible learning experience over Beaconhouse Schooling Uninterrupted (BSU). We have further developed the platform over the summer holidays and our teachers, curriculum developers, and education technology team have developed high-quality educational/instructional videos and other resource materials aligned with the Beaconhouse curriculum. This content will formally be shared with students during online classes through the BSU YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/BSUofficial).

We are also working with international experts within the Beaconhouse network and beyond in developing comprehensive SOPs for safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our students and staff from 15 July, when school buildings are expected to reopen for face-to-face learning. We will share these SOPs with you in early July 2020.

We wish you a peaceful conclusion to the holy month and a blessed (but perhaps a little quieter) Eid-ul-Fitr. Let us all pray that the Almighty protects our families, our country and all of humanity from this pandemic.

Kind Regards,

School Administration
