On February 28th, 2016 Beaconhouse-Newlands Lahore hosted the fourth TEDxLahore event, themed “Umeed-e-Sehar” – or – “Hope of a New Dawn.” Seven speakers covered everything from art to human rights to literature, sharing big ideas from within Pakistan and for the world. Our students and staff members were involved throughout in the core organizing teams. BNL students were found manning security booths, providing logistics support, stage management, social media teams, and photography and editorial teams. Our students also performed a flash mob that surprised the guests. TEDxLahore was the top trending events in Pakistan on twitter and the social media reach hit 3 million views. BN’s support for TEDxLahore is in line with our commitment to providing an eco-system for lifelong learning by having one of the largest ideas gathering space come to our school. We have already secured a license for our own TEDx conference, which will be hosted by our students and staff later this year.
